An orifice plate (måleblende plate) is a device used for measuring flow rate and is a very cost effective device for a suitable application. Suitability is dependent of given Process data where required turndown is an important input value.
Either a volumetric or mass flow rate may be determined, depending on the calculation associated with the orifice plate. It uses the same principle as a Venturi nozzle, namely Bernoulli’s principle which states that there is a relationship between the pressure of the fluid and the velocity of the fluid. When the velocity increases, the pressure decreases and vice versa. Orifice plates are designed according to ISO 5167.
Restriction Orifice Plates
Restriction Orifice Plates are used to reducing pressure or for restricting the flow. The Orifice bore is calculated according to process data and application requirements.
Normally SIFAB-Plates are calculated and manufactured by our partner Dosch in Germany.
If delivery time is critical we would consider to manufacture Plates locally.
